Arsenal still Top seed
7 August 2006Arsenal are seeded in the top echelon for the Uefa Champions league campaign this season with fellow premiership rivals Manchester United and Liverpool. The fourth premiership club Chelsea are in the second seed despite their retaining the premiership title which they won for the second year in succession last season.
Arsenal have to play through the qualifying stages to get to the Champions league group stage proper but Uefa obviously know that they are still a team with pedigree and one to watch unlike their fellow London team Chelsea which the seeding system has exposed as minnows in Uefa’s ranking system
