Hamburg v Arsenal
12 September 2006Arsenal travel to Germany for a Champions League tie with Hamburg. Thierry Henry will not be involved in the match as he is nursing a minor foot injury he picked up in an international match against Italy…..
It is a match which will also have Arsenal with a strange kit which will not have their sponsors ‘Emirates’ printed on the front. This is because the Hamburg share similar sponsors with Arsenal.
Arsenal will instead have ‘Dubai’ printed on their shirts as they concede the right of jersey choice to Hamburg the home team. When Hamburg visit London to play in the Emirate stadium, they will not have the name of their sponsors on their own jerseys too
