Arsenal come out trumps
13 August 2007The Gunners were host to fellow Londoners Fulham in the first match of the new 2007/2008 premiership season. The Arsenals’ hopes of hitting the ground running and getting early points almost came unstuck in the very first minute of the game with a goal from Healy following a catastrophic mistake by Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehman………
The Gunners however showed grit and determination by coming out of that encounter with a win. The Arsenals’ game showed a hint of what to expect this new season with attempts at goal coming from so many angles and raining down on the Fulham goalkeeper.
It however took a late penalty from Robin van Pierse after Kolo Toure’s rampaging run into the oppositions penalty area had been halted illegally in the 84th minute to bring Arsene Wenger’s team level and a 90th minute bit of brilliance from Hleb to give The Gooners the desired win.
