Emmanuel Adebayor’s Red Card
1 March 2007The English FA are standing by their decision not to rescind the red card shown to Emmanuel Adebayor during Arsenal’s ill-fated Carling Cup Final encounter against Chelsea played at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff. According to spokesmen of the FA, the referee’s report did not accuse the player of hitting Wayne Bridge but instead it accuses him of being overly aggressive by shoving Ricardo Cavarlho and aiming a punch at Frank Lampard………
Frank Lampard has denied being on the receiving end of any punch and as far as shoving Ricardo Carvalho goes, the two teams where equally guilty of pushing and shoving. For example Frank Lampard and Cesc Fabregas should be equally guilty of aggressively pushing and shoving.
The FA is only living up to its true reputation of supporting the match officials after they make bad decisions. The only reliable thing about the FA is their unreliability.
