Middlesbrough v Arsenal
1 February 2007The Gunners visit the Riverside this weekend hoping to close the gap on the leading pack. Arsenal’s Carling cup engagement against Totenham Hotspurs midweek and the front trios of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpools’ wins in the Premiership saw the gap between us and the league leaders extended. Though we have a game in hand, I would rather we had the points in the bag.
Boro are a strong team to play in front of their home fans as they seem to have overcome their inital dip in home form to make the Riverside a moat in which to drown any teams ambitions of getting a victory. of the thirty-one (31) points they have gotten this season, twenty-three (23) have been in front of their home crowd.
The Gunners do however have a good history of their visits to ‘Boro losing only one of their last eleven visits to the Riverside and we have also scored in twenty-one of our twenty-three premiership clashes against Middlesbrough.
