Video Technology at last
2 March 2007Video Technology will hopefully be introduced into football in the nearest future. Many other sports are benefitting from Video Technology to assist the referees and their assistants make important match decisions.
They will not be used to decide every tackle or throw-in contested by opposing players though. Instead they will be used in more crucial decisions like the award of controversial goals ie to know if a ball may have crossed over the goal line or not.
It is about time this technology was incorporated into football. It is used in many other sports like Rugby, Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Snooker, Athletics etc. Let us hope that the FA agree to try it out in the Premiership
