Wenger and Ferguson verbal onslaught rekindled???????
27 January 2007Sir Alex Ferguson has taken a swipe at Arsene Wenger for some statements he is purported to have made regarding Manchester United’s supposed lack of stamina towards the last twenty minutes of their Premiership games.
This verbal match between these two warring Premiership giants has been non existent since the arrival of the Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho who seems to have taken all the limelight with his own brand of humour and analysis.
Wenger has said that he never alluded to the fact that Man U tire towards the end of games but had merely reminded the Gunners that they should remember winning at Old Trafford in the last five minutes of the game. Maybe Sir Alex misses the Wenger’s rivalry. Why else would he try to fan the embers of a non existent fire by rekindling old wars?
And with the Chelsea manager struggling with his own personal demons in the boardroom of Stamford Bridge, the Scot may be searching for new ammunition with which to inspire his team. The Gunners are breathing down your collective necks and we are out to get the leading pack.
